Here are the yoga classes I’ll be teaching this Saturday at Yoga On Yamhill, located at SW 2nd and Yamhill in downtown Portland, Oregon.
9am-10am Kundalini: Kriya for a Healthy Bowel System & Meditation for Prosperity
Perhaps you’ve heard that the CDC is now monitoring sewage systems for early signs of new breakouts. What works at the macro level is also true at the micro level. Your bowels can indicate if you’re becoming sick. Keeping your bowels healthy is a great way to avoid getting sick in the first place! This Kundalini Kriya includes standing exercises for keeping your digestion on track. I think all of the postures in this set feel great, and I really appreciate the opportunity to practice standing poses that can be used any time to feel good.
We’ll also practice an 11-minute Kundalini meditation for prosperity.
12:00pm-1:15pm Vinyasa: The Throat Lock (Jalandhara Bandha) & Accessing our Higher Selves
Our focus on the energy valves (bandhas) continues with the throat lock, Jalandhara Bandha. This energy lock works on physical and energetic levels. Physically, awareness of this lock can improve your day-to-day posture. Just bringing awareness to this lock is often enough to counteract the slumped, dismal computer posture. Energetically, engaging this lock allows energy to smoothly flow toward the higher chakras of the throat, mind, and spirit. So whether you’re looking for a simple way to enhance your posture, or you’re curious about accessing higher wisdom, this should be a great class.
I hope to see you on the mat!
