Portland Saturday Yoga with Colleen: Motivation/1st Quarter Moon and Getting the Energy Moving for a Calm Mind and Strong Nerves

It’s going to be a great Saturday for yoga in downtown Portland, Oregon! We had such a lovely class to kick off our lunar series last week. I hope you can come and join.

9am-10am Kundalini Yoga: Get the Energy Moving and Meditation for Calm Mind and Strong Nerves

This is a short and sweet kriya that will make your back feel great! It is excellent preparation for meditation, so we’ll practice the Meditation for a Calm Mind and Strong Nerves. This is a great meditation to protect you from irrationality.

12:00pm-1:15pm Vinyasa: First Quarter: Motivation and Svadyaya

In this second class in the lunar reset series, we’ll synch with the moon’s first quarter. This is the perfect time to check in on the intentions you created last week. How are the seeds you planted sprouting? (There will be time to set intentions if you weren’t in the last class.) What can motivation science tell us about how to best stay focused on our goals? We’ll combine this modern science with the ancient wisdom of yoga on Svadyaya (self-study) and Santosha (contentment). Our flow will include some fun postures–Humble Warrior, Flipped Dog, and eagle.

As always, you can sign up for class at YogaOnYamhill.com/schedule. If you’re having any difficulty signing up please email me–I can sign you in at the studio, or send you the link to the online class. Yes, you can take these classes online, in person, or get the recording of class afterwards if this time isn’t good for you.

The studio is located downtown, on the second floor in a historic Portland building. Expect to be wowed by the original brick, charming courtyard, and sense of being in the city, but not overwhelmed by it. This is quite simply one of the most beautiful practice spaces I have seen in Portland.
